How the World Got Trumped & What You Can Do About It

In one the most epic original fantasies of all time, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings written by J.R. Tolkien we meet the likes of elves, trolls, wizards, and dragons but not just to entertain us. It is a story to teach and inspire us. It is a story that represents life. The fight between good and evil. Particularly, it is a fight between powers during the time that Tolkien saw throughout history exerting uncompassionate power over nature and humanity to abuse creation for its own purpose. In the beginning of the Lord of Rings, which follows The Hobbit, we get this introduction:

Galadriel: (speaking partly in Elvish)

(I amar prestar aen.)

The world is changed.

(Han matho ne nen.)

I feel it in the water.

(Han mathon ned cae.)

I feel it in the earth.

(A han noston ned gwilith.)

I smell it in the air.

Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.

It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf-Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern each race. But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made. Deep in the land of Mordor, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged a master ring, and into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life.

One ring to rule them all.

One by one, the free lands of Middle-Earth fell to the power of the Ring, but there were some who resisted. A last alliance of men and elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the very slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth. Victory was near, but the power of the ring could not be undone. It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the king, took up his father’s sword.

Sauron, enemy of the free peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated. The Ring passed to Isildur, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of men are easily corrupted. And the ring of power has a will of its own. It betrayed Isildur, to his death.

And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, it ensnared another bearer.

It came to the creature Gollum, who took it deep into the tunnels of the Misty Mountains. And there it consumed him. The ring gave to Gollum unnatural long life. For five hundred years it poisoned his mind, and in the gloom of Gollum’s cave, it waited. Darkness crept back into the forests of the world. Rumor grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear, and the Ring of Power perceived its time had come. It abandoned Gollum, but then something happened that the Ring did not intend. It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable: a hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire.

For the time will soon come when hobbits will shape the fortunes of all.

How familiar does that sound to you today? Throughout time and history, people have disagreed in political parties and countries between countries on how society should be ruled. However, every conflict between parties and resentments over past presidents considered a bit defunct did not compare to anything when Donald J. Trump came to be the President of this country. In whatever way we were progressing and in whatever way we were struggling, everything came to an amazing halt. We were all in a state of shock and everything he did after were terrible unending shock waves. Like a game of cards, there was a new card in the deck of life no one saw before. It was labeled ‘T”. America was Trumped! But this didn’t happen as some kind of magic trick out of thin air.

“I COULD HAVE BUT I DIDN’T”–Rupert Murdoch head of Fox News responded in the Dominion court case when asked why if he knew Trump was lying he didn’t stop his “news anchors” from peddling it. QNON and all sorts of underground movements that cleverly played on American’s quiet bigotry, fears, and secret hate did so but in a way under “conservative values”. Things like “protecting” the country from “foreigners”, Christian extremism, and much more. Trump in and of himself has never been much of a lasting success but rather running off of many frauds and scams until he hit the reality show circuit. He rode that wave and onto into social media too. For instance, it is well known that he didn’t think he would win the presidency originally. It was a popularity campaign until it snowballed to what it came to be and then he got his son on the ball to make the Presidency a sure win for him. Don Jr. got ahold of social media metrics, took our information from the social media fine print rules we signed onto. The American public had already bought into government being against them (A Communist ploy from decades earlier) so a disenchanted people signed onto Fox News and Trump’s conspiracy theories. Meanwhile, the rest of us never imagined that large amount of people would buy into such apparent lies. Trump wanted all the followers and passion he could have, killers or not, wack jobs or not. And so they came and crafted their messages with him in this underground world of conspiracy of racists who feel the world just didn’t fully embrace their hate theology enough. It wasn’t that outright though. They clouded the messaging to play on people’s hate for the “left” messaging, white neglect, immigrants, abortion, homosexuality and eventually the entire voting scam scheme they created. This became bigger than Trump and as Murdoch text message said in the Dominion court case (after he said Trump had gone plain crazy), “We must make Trump a non-person”. He is becoming that now isn’t he? A sort of sad clown figure of the 2020 Covid period. A poor loser fighting after presidency he can’t reclaim. He himself is no longer the large looming figure on the world stage and I’m sure that bothers him. No, now it is the poisonous lying messaging that remains and the Monsters it has created around the globe. Monsters who feel they can use “one ring of power” to rule them all. A dictatorship started off of people’s bigotry and fears.

I could have but I didn’t“–its a quote that will ring through this century. Shawn Hannity of Fox News was disgusted with Trump for weeks but instead of telling truth about that lied to his audience to keep his ratings (Rupert Murdoch testimony). He could have told the truth but he didn’t. Instead, he continued to blame the left Democrats as election deniers, Dominion voting machines as rigged, and that Trump was the real President of the country, not the truly elected Biden. What does the head of Fox think should be done? Reprimands and maybe removal. Do you think we will see that? I doubt it.

During the Trump era, we have also learned that, in the background, countries like Russia and China were getting away with spying in our skies with a massive campaign of spy balloons and military build-up. Syria literally got away with murder for the price of keeping our gas prices low.

I could have but I didn’t.“….Rupert Murdoch didn’t just say, but everyone did who didn’t stand up against this guy or these policies. This is what so many people have chosen over making stand at all on this. The tide is turning but not quickly enough for my comfort. I will never forget hearing three past Presidents who were never so dynamically opposed in how they ran this country get together for an announcement. A warning. They came together to say how dangerous this Trump leadership was; President Bush, President Jimmy Carter and President Obama. Through the testimony of the Jan 6th trials and now Rupert Murdoch’s testimony that he knew everything Trump was saying was “bullshit” (Exact same words from Trump’s Chief of Staff testimony, Bill Barr), we have something more here than someone we can feel good about if he gets court convictions.

It is like a Biblical Beast of Revelations in comparison. The world secretly both got drunk on its wine, hates and fears. Trump spoke only what was already on the heart and minds of people from lying machines like Fox News and QNON which we now know much more about from the leaders who ran those organizations who have now said loud and clear it was made-up lies. No one is without excuse when this testimony is coming from the horse’s mouth. Do you think that will change their follower’s minds since this hate and fear was already there just needing water to fertilize it? I doubt it. And while the world gladly destroys Trump, and mocks him, his mark is left on everyone who drank from his cup. He in reality only represents something within themselves they let happen at places like the poll booth. It’s now created a monster of an ideology of lies and a new threat that storms this earth and seeks power to rule by sheer dictatorship, not liberty and true humanity.

Russia and China are inflamed by the foothold Trump had given them and they are teaming up to keep that foothold. With a Republican-led House that has extremists at the helm, we have a governing future that is in grave jeopardy. DeSantis, the Governor of Florida, looms on the horizon as someone birthed out from The Trump Card era. His Big Brother ideas are something that other states are looking to adopt and it is possible he will run for President. While he appeases the privileged in Florida, they blindly look past the heart of a man who heartlessly shipped immigrants to other states without being truthful about it, had people with criminal records arrested for voting by changing a voting law, is banning books and changing the education system without the input of our educational leaders. Teachers are leaving his state in droves. Gays and Drag Queens are seen as dangerous as pedophiles and women have lost the right to choose what to do with their bodies. Meanwhile, those in that state say “I could do something but I didn’t” because it doesn’t affect them. They aren’t in the shoes of the people who these changes affect, but are willing to make restrictions upon them with angry men like DeSantis. When it does affect them and their own liberty is threatened, it will be too late. The chokehold is tightening on that state and others are grabbing for a vine.

This is a time of great spiritual warfare and if you are sensitive to it you could foresee the veil uplifting before it began in 2020 and you can certainly see that is lifted now. You can feel it as well as probably witness the horrors of people’s hearts and minds as they have turned to inhumane viewpoints. Politicians themselves are leaving their parties or standing up in radical ways to say this isn’t normal. This isn’t about business as usual. These battles aren’t about representing the people and doing the best for the people that they represent, but the desires of a few to create dictatorships. To end liberty and compassionate rule as we know it.

What can you do? Wake up to the reality that a short time ago we were all played, trumped. Our progress and our struggles of everyday life paled in comparison to the trump card played by media outlets, politicians, and a man who rode the wave and then steered it into the tsunami it is today. This tsunami is so massive now that it has thrown him off in its violence, revenge, and desire for power. This isn’t about Trump any longer (I’m sure he hates that). This isn’t about politics. This is about an ideology of lies to lead us toward dictatorship based on bigotry and something similar to the Nazi’s. You have got to wake up and no matter what you believe in faith or politically, stand up for freedom, goodness, godliness, humane treatment of all men and women and yes, those in between. You must because it might not be now but one day it might be you who is fighting for your liberty and you don’t want it to be too late for you. Put yourself in the shoes of other people. You don’t want to find that there is no one standing with you when you are in need of liberty in the face of a tsunami like this one.

  1. Why does this give me no comfort? You are asking me to take a leap of faith because of what you interpret and believe. Your suggestion is that the whole conservative system is so bad, all conservatives, if awake, will rush off to join the democrat side where truth and virtue is to be found, We have two major viewpoints on government and vilifying everything Trump ever said or done, is unrealistic to the point that you are not to be trusted, but speak from a political ad for the left.
I’m not left or right but you need to be a bit more curious about what the other side is about versus your comments on your certitude about them, that certitude comes across as them having no value. Hardly a piece to give a serious look at.
I think it made you feel good to vent your opinion/frustrations/conclusions by writing this.
Sorry, but you could have done better.

    1. I can see where you are coming from Frank and it would be correct IF you were correct about me. But, I voted for Reagan and Bush. I was a Republican. I know the Republican side. This is no longer the Republican party I knew. I have done my research and when Trump was elected I gave him the benefit of the doubt. So your assumptions about me are incorrect. I have done my research. One only needs to look at what this party is doing and what has recently been exposed in the Jan 6th trials and now Rupert Murdoch’s testimony of the hand-in-glove relationship between a Fox News and our Executive Branch to know the GOP has fallen apart. I do want a balance of powers but this isn’t it. So I have to disagree with you. I will agree this is a post definitely about me venting. It is a “blog” not a news article. It is my personal voice and opinion, take it or leave it in that sense.

      1. I get it, it’s your expression.
What gets me, is the viewpoint that Trump is so bad and the insistence to vilify him, that any conservative that looks across the aisle says,”lot’s of shit to be found over there.” It’s as if the disdain for him is grounds to ignore the other guys that started the political move to overthrow the elected government in the Ukraine and has trillions of dollars pouring into a war against Russia. I’m at awe that anyone believes in any political party that has my (our) best interests at heart.
Yes, you can vilify and find all the qualities that are loathsome in Trump, but he did not start a war, arranged the Abrahamic Accords in the Middle East and had to outlast a false Russian collision assault by the Democrats that took all the wind out of productivity.
I note as well the Democrats in Obama’s mid terms last his super majority in both houses, then along came the election and they did not understand that despite all the propaganda, 50% of the people there did not like Hillary Clinton. That speaks for itself that things are not about Trump alone but much wider. I never har about that as people vent about Trump.
I suppose people love to hate a bad guy, that way they are distracted from noticing what their side/friends/party they support are up to. Dare I say it, “even to look at themselves.”

I re-read your response and found this interesting. “One only needs to look at what this party is doing and what has recently been exposed in the Jan 6th trials and now Rupert Murdoch’s testimony of the hand-in-glove relationship between a Fox News and our Executive Branch to know the GOP has fallen apart.”
The first thing I notice is how the Legacy media spins for the party in power. Like during the pandemic and the war in Ukraine and anything else that supports the reigning power of the day.
Like I said, none of them are to be trusted. Supporting the better of the two worst ones is no longer grounds for me to support any of them.
Where does that leave me? Fucked in most ways if I hang my well-being hat on any of them. Thus my exit from them and building my own world. yet I keep a weary eye cast upon them.

      2. Some good points Frank! I understand your feeling of “exiting” and “building your own world”. There are some additional things to consider though. The Russian machine and the enemies of democracy have been for decades trying to get people to distrust the government and the media. They need that to happen so democracies fall apart. I don’t believe all Republicans or Democrats are good or bad. However, it is quite clear to me that the Republican party has changed a lot in aligning themselves with extremists who have publically said that would suspend or get rid of our Constitution altogether and in treating people very inhumanely and rolling back our Civil Rights. Those are 3 things that I will not stand for and is different for the GOP. Trump has cast doubt into the minds of the American people on our election system WHEN it didn’t go the way he didn’t want, then our legislative branch WHEN it didn’t go the way he wanted and now he vilifies the judicial system because he faces charges. And he flames up his base who send out death threats and do all sorts of things to the people running those things as he calls people out that he doesn’t like when he doesn’t get his way. This is different. So this really isn’t about tar and feathering, or just vilifying him. He really and truly is a pretty bad guy with ideas to take down our democracy and he doesn’t mind who get’s hurt or even killed in the process. He has literally said twice now that he wants to get rid of and /or suspend our Constitution. Second, all the news isn’t bad either. If we go that route and shut down media or let these little dictators rise up and make state-run media in the void, then free speech is gone. We do have news we can trust and the way to do it is to listen to multiple resources and weigh it out. Good, reputable news sources. We have to believe in good in the world again and truly see what it is right and wrong. There are good people out there trying to do the right thing, you just have to look for them and really don’t have to look far. They are rising up!
