Atheists On Tik Tok

I’m not sure whether it is the algorithm or not, but on my TikTok feed, there is a spike of Atheists daring others to prove that God exists. It’s part interesting and part annoying. I’m not sure exactly why as a spiritual person, I’m getting the opposite of my interest, but go figure. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t think atheists necessarily have a straight ticket to hell, and I do like hearing their thoughts at times because at least they are thinkers and not just blind followers.

I do find them to be often very much on the other extreme, though–so much in their head that they are running in circles, worshipping their own mind, and pretty angry often. Just anger brewing there underneath, waiting like a rotwiler. I once attended a local “Heretics” club for a while to hear these folks out, provide a different perspective, and still show friendship. That couldn’t be accepted ultimately. I was chewed on and ultimately spat out.

The biggest fault I see with the atheists’ line of thinking is that they stick solely with logic dealing with a realm that is mythical and spiritual. They also completely refuse to admit the limits, unknowns, and mysteries of science, and rather point to the other things that surely prove their thesis out. Yet, they don’t offer that to the spiritual laws, only the laws of science. In other words, they demand God to prove himself or herself to them like 2 + 2=4 while science doesn’t always do that either.

Did an Atheist see the Big Bang happen with their own eyes? Can they show us evidence it happened? No. They will point to proofs that it is the case though. They will say here is what we have that this most likely true.

What then is the case of the proof of the Spirit? Which again, I would remind my reader, is not anything that propositions itself to be in this physical world—and Atheists say it doesn’t exist. Well, the fruit of the Spirit is this: love, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. We know that people throughout the ages have experienced a change in their total life, and those exhibiting these “fruits” these proofs. Could a lie make such complete transformations of a person’s soul? I really don’t see how.

But the Atheist wants to dissect the makings of scientific arguments along with Biblical inconsistencies to say God doesn’t exist. This is like examining the universe the way you would the mechanics of a car, with the determination to say no one created it because it operates on its own once the driver gets in and turns on the ignition. And they know the make-up of that car through and through probably better than the engineers does. But atheists are as narrow-minded as fundamentalist Christians are about the Bible having fallen off God’s printing press from the sky. While Fundamentalists are religious zealots, Atheists are ones of the minds.

I think skeptics come at God from a sense of an Americanized Biblical perspective, and when the logic breaks down, which of course it will, there is a crisis of faith. Either God is impotent, a liar, or evil. Who of us can explain love? The life-sacrificing kind even humans will do and specifically Christ was to give? We can use our logical mind to explain that kind of love away to chemicals and circumstances, but if you have ever been in that kind of love or experienced it, you know there is more to it that can’t be explained. A spiritual element that is beyond mere attachment or affection.

Atheist often claim how can loving God allow evil or bad things to exist? A parent can love you and still bad things can happen to you under that parent’s care. Does that mean that person loves you any less? We may need to remember and not forget that God has used many means to reach us, speak to us, and transform us. IF and I say if, you believe the Biblical story, humanity pushed God off into a corner and rejected all those attempts over the centuries. The last living testament was Jesus and the spirit of God’s love in our hearts. God put aside his use of his authoritarian power so that we may choose and create a world we begged him for. One where we are free from God’s direct interference. That is the story of the Bible. God is in our hearts and can speak to our minds but it isn’t all about the mind. This is the tragic mistake of atheists. A pretty good example of this is the story of Job. I won’t spoil it for you but people forget how it ends when Job has had enough and wants God to prove himself. God’s ways are not our ways, and God’s thoughts are not our thoughts. I fear for anyone who thinks they are going to out logic God.

Madonna sings, “We are living in a Material World, and I am a Material Girl”. Fun song! But no. We are living in a spiritual world that has material things in it, and when you see the bigger picture, you become open to more.
