The Great Pretenders: a Tribute To Fakers Everywhere

I don’t know about you but I fed up with fake up crap.

Fake pictures created by AI in place of real art.

Fake dating profiles where I have wasted hours that have now become years with men who don’t mean what they say.

Fake people where I blamed myself for my judgements of feeling awkward around them but they were really con artists.

Fake posts on social media. All the photos to make our lives look so great, our social networks look so great, what we are doing and who we love as “the best” when it isn’t. It all drives us to compare or feel lonelier and it is all fake. Down deep we know how staged these photos are and that no one on the other end is really glued to their feed happy to see US. We are posting them to say “Look at what I am doing” or “Look at who I am with” and “Look how sexy my life is” and we know down deep this leaves nothing but a message of you should envy my life.

I’m tired of what has become a fake Supreme Court acting like it is passing laws on behalf of the people when it has now become way out of balance. It is passing laws in line with one political party values. It is passing laws for it’s own self interest and there is no one stopping it. #supremecourt

I’m tired of fake patriotism. People faking patriotism when they are willing to elect someone who wants to end Democracy as we know it. Just be real with who and what you are voting for. You can’t wave the America Flag and sing the Patriotic songs if you want to end Democracy. That’s hypocritical and fake. #patriotism #fake

I’m tired of gay bar events that promise so much and deliver so little. I don’t even bother going anymore. #Fake.

I’m tired of hearing of my fellow gays wanting the community outside their own to treat them with grace, respect and dignity but they eat each other alive over differences, drama and conflict. #Fake.

I’m tired of people who have said to me “I would never do that to you”, “I would never abandon you” and have so that now I’m left with so few and a lot of shattered memories. #Fake.

I’m tired of seeing the alumni I went to school with still being ignorant today about issues on race, LGBTQ and basic common sense on democracy even after the great education we had and going to college. Yet, they think so highly of themselves. It drives me nuts #idiots.

I’m tired of religious and political institutions and their leaders saying they are serving the people when so many people have been and presently are suffering under the hands of both. Agendas, the limits of self grandizing visions that is called “God”, and the power of money have taken precedent over people at every turn almost. #fake.

I’m tired of all the talk and little action. We talk a lot on gun control, what we need to do in schools, in the church, in unifying the country and the world and very little action. #walkyourtalk

I’m tired of fake connections. People who contact you only when they need you to do something or something to sell you but mask it as if they want to catch up with you. #fake

I’m tired of fake accusations. Those who have escalated the violence in this country with words and actions (Trump, Maga) no matter their reasoning for it and not owning the fire it has started and now consumes this nation #fakereasons #excuse

I’m tired of introverts (I am one) using that card as an excuse to be a jerk. #fake #excuse.

I’m tired of fake friends. People who use my kindness as some sort of notion of unintelligence or being a push-over that they are going to pretend to be a friend to use me. #fake #seeingthroughit

I’m tired of fake mantras that make the person who is saying it feel better but not the receiver. Like the saying “you have to learn to trust” when so many are untrustworthy. People really aren’t truthful and will break your trust–given time–in a big way. Finding a person who truly cares in a way that they will put themself aside is rare, just in conversation let alone for something bigger. I’ve had it for a few years here and there but ultimately family is all I can count on now. #fakepeople

I’m tired of being more happy with fake worlds. That instead of being involved in life, dreams and purposes, I am more investing my days in fake stories on streaming shows or fake stories and fake fullfillment through video games. These can be innocent hobbies but for a lot of us it takes up a good amount of our free time when we could be making a bigger impact for ourselves, family and the world. #fakestories

I’m tired of fake power. Seeing and hearing how corporations are getting their hands on politics, news media and the like so we don’t get the truth or the America we deserve but they are using our money to do it. If we take control of our money, we take back control of these corporations. #fakepower

Fake victims. I’m tired of people saying everything is hopelesss and we have no power. Not true. We have the power of our voice, our vote, and what we do with our money. I’ve seen it at work to change things. When we band together and we can change this country and the world. If we believe the lie that we are hopeless then we do nothing and we really are. #fakevictims
