Decades ago, in the 1990’s, when Louis Farrakhan, who hated white America and Jews, went to Lybia to meet with Gaddafi to get a loan for the revamping of The Nation of Islam, he said something I will never forget. He stayed outside of the country for a while because of the heat he was facing on his racist and anti-semitic rhetoric. Things were getting too hot under the collar for him. It was rumored that he said he was going to get money from the looney Lybian leader to work with our enemies to help in efforts to tear our nation apart from the inside out.

That sinister statement stuck with me. How did he imagine he would be able to engage in something that would tear us apart from the inside out? We were a strong country back then, and I couldn’t imagine what they thought they could do to tear us apart. Maybe a further divide of race or class? It made sense because going nuclear head-to-head wasn’t going to get anywhere, and the US at the time had more money and more allies than any of our enemies. In reality, the only way we could fall would be from within. It chilled me to the bone, but I felt we could stand against it.
Bring us up to 2024 and here we are fighting for our democracy. A divided nation. There is even a movie coming out called “Civil War”, which I’m not sure I will watch because it looks all too real a possibility. People talk of a possible Civil War a lot. Can you imagine that? How have we gotten this far? A Civil War between people who want a democracy and those who don’t.

Make no mistake about it. You can’t just say you aren’t going to vote because you think the candidates are both liars or too old. Nor is this a typical political left or right fight for which party or which person you think is the best fit for President like usual. It’s different this time. People have left the GOP side and even Trump’s side for how extreme it has gotten. The misinformation of what we might call the MAGA machine at this point (though it began way earlier than them) is can we trust that our votes count, that our judicial system works rightly, that governing officials are trustworthy, and that news outlets are unbiased and reporting the truth. At a level X10. Seeds of doubt are a full on burning bush. It now comes down to the question, do you want to continue with a Democracy or more of a fly-by-night Dictatorship. Through a long bout of misinformation, a crew of wacky people who usually go unheard, have hitched their tails onto the largest political party of our nation. The GOP. This has given this misinformation campaign structure, money, a megaphone, and thus much more power. The only thing this deceptive campaign has to claim against their opponent is Biden’s age and his son’s trials, but meanwhile, their own candidate has been convicted of crimes, and a pronounced dictator lover:
“I said I want to be a dictator for one day. You know why I wanted to be a dictator? Because I want a wall, and I want to drill, drill, drill,” the former president said.”–Rand News
Do you know anyone who was just a dictator for a day?
Of the dictator Kim Jun Un of North Korea, he has said that he has “fallen in love” with him by letters they wrote in the past and he congratulated him on social media on his recent re-election. Even Ron DeSantis was miffed and questioned why he would congratulate a murderer. Prior Vice President Mike Pence, who surgically somehow has developed a spine, says he will not vote for Trump.
“Indeed, hours before his remarks were aired, a longtime ally who is widely expected to serve in a top national security role if Trump returns to the White House vowed to target journalists in a second Trump term.
“We’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections,” said Kash Patel, even though numerous federal and local officials, a long list of courts, top former campaign staffers and even Trump’s own attorney general have all said there is no evidence of the fraud he alleges.”—Spectrum News
We aren’t dealing with the threat of missiles any longer, folks. It is misinformation over missiles. What you don’t know will hurt you and the country. AND, it’s been long in the works to get us to no longer trust our government and hand it over to a dictator. Our own ignorance of the truth has been used to frustrate us on what it really takes to run a country to create mistrust and bow out of the process.
“China, Russia, and other adversaries already know this. They have weaponized disinformation—seeding the internet with rumors and conspiracy theories in the panicked early days of COVID-19, for example. That helped slow the response and almost certainly cost lives. But it also makes it harder to hold up American democracy as a model for the world.”–(Truth Decay Is Putting America At Risk).

In our time of great weakness as a nation of uneducated people following blindly a man who speaks to ill will, bias, and circular reasoning that inflates a false sense of patriotism that will soon robb every American should they vote this MAGA Republican, can you imagine someone speaking like this today: (from The Federalist Papers long ago)
“In the course of the preceding observations, I have had an eye, my fellow-citizens, to putting you upon your guard against all attempts, from whatever quarter, to influence your decision in a matter of the utmost moment to your welfare, by any impressions other than those which may result from the evidence of truth. You will, no doubt, at the same time, have collected from the general scope of them, that they proceed from a source not unfriendly to the new Constitution. Yes, my countrymen, I own to you that, after having given it an attentive consideration, I am clearly of opinion it is your interest to adopt it. I am convinced that this is the safest course for your liberty, your dignity, and your happiness. I affect not reserves which I do not feel. I will not amuse you with an appearance of deliberation when I have decided. I frankly acknowledge to you my convictions, and I will freely lay before you the reasons on which they are founded. The consciousness of good intentions disdains ambiguity. I shall not, however, multiply professions on this head. My motives must remain in the depository of my own breast. My arguments will be open to all, and may be judged of by all. They shall at least be offered in a spirit which will not disgrace the cause of truth.”
What did Trump and the MAGA heads have to say about the Constitution of the United States? You know, the thing that guarantees equal rights and stuff like that? When the election didn’t go his way, here is what he said:
“Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” —Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social. Oh yeah, let’s just re-write the Constitution because you didn’t win? It is clear he holds no value of the Constitution because he violates it constantly:
Article 1 Section 9: Not accepting money from foreign entities yet his businesses received over 7.8 million but who cares! So what? Badda bing, badda boom.
He also stole money from the military funds to build the border wall, another violation of the constitution. But who cares! So what?
He also opposes the 14th amendment, birthright citizenship. That if your parents weren’t born here but you are born here, you are automatically a citizen. White boy don’t play that! He plays on the immigration fire this inflames. But also, this amendment just so happens to enforce the Bill of Rights, due process in our courts, and our rights to not be ruled by insurrectionists. Insurrectionists. Hmmm…Jan 6th anyone? Smoke and Mirrors, smoke and mirrors.

What Do Other MAGA leaders feel about the Constitution?
“We need a national divorce. We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government,” Greene wrote. “Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
Greene, an ally of former President Donald Trump who supported the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, previously suggested calling for a “national divorce” in 2021.

I think Liz Cheney’s response (a Republican by the way) says it all:
“Our country is governed by the Constitution,” Cheney tweeted. “You swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Secession is unconstitutional. No member of Congress should advocate secession, Marjorie.”

You have to ask yourself why dictators support people like this and they support them, especially the man about to be put on the GOP ballot? Why does he support their regimes? How can you not think he would want to emulate that if he is “falling in love” with leaders like that? And if you are willing to take that risk then you have to ask yourself do you want to be a citizen in places like North Korea where you live in complete poverty? I think that whatever weakness a country has, other countries are going to exploit it, the US included. We aren’t angels by any stretch of the imagination. Louis Farrakhan believed we as a nation had a price to pay for all our violent actions against Native people. I hope we can do better by them rather than some kind of Karma wrath but I don’t know.

Regardless, other nations know our weakness now, and we have to stand strong on the side of Democracy, the Constitution, and that it works. If we give into the crows that spread the lies that nothing in our American Democracy works anymore and no one is good, our system will be no more, and little Hitlers are waiting in the wings to take it over. They always have been waiting over the decades. They never had this big of mechanizm to get their misinformation campaign across until now. So, which side of the megaphone will be on? The one spreading the misinformation or the one shutting it down for the sake of Democracy?
